The History of Pedersen Toyota: In 1967 Colorado Import Motors was founded as a Toyota retail automobile dealership by Robert Becker and Sherm Brooks in Fort Collins Colorado and staffed only 4 employees. In 1969 Gordon Moderhak became a new partner of Colorado Import Motors, replacing Sherm Brooks. In 1972 Colorado Import Motors needs for expansion led to the addition of an adjacent building. Gerry Pedersen joined Gordon Moderhak as co-owner of Colorado Import Motors with a total workforce of 22. In 1992 Plans for relocation of Colorado Import Motors resulted in the construction of a new state-of-the-art dealership, consisting of a 27,500 square foot building on 2.5 acres. It opened in March of 1992 under the name of Pedersen Toyota Volvo Saab. In 1995 Pedersen Toyota Volvo Saab grew and employed over 60 professional, dedicated and well trained individuals continuing to make this a premiere and progressive dealership in Northern Colorado. In January 1999, under the continued successful management, Pedersen Auto Plaza opened its doors. Today there are an average of 92 employees working at Pedersen Toyota-Volvo and Pedersen Auto Plaza.
