Toyota Safety Sense™ P combines an in-vehicle camera and front-grill mounted millimeter-wave radar for enhanced performance and more functionality. In addition to the three active safety technologies featured in the TSS-C package, TSS-P enhances the Pre-Collision System by adding a Pedestrian Detection function, enhances LDA by adding a Steering Assist function on certain models, and adds Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Feature availability may vary by vehicle and/or vehicle trim.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD)

The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) is designed to help detect a vehicle or a pedestrian in certain situations. Using both a camera and radar, PCS w/PD can provide an audio/visual alert to warn you of a possible collision under certain circumstances. If you don’t react, the system is designed to automatically brake.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) or Full-Speed Range DRCC

Intended for highway use, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) lets you drive at a preset speed. DRCC is designed to function at speeds of 25-110 mph and uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control, helping maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you. Full-Speed Range DRCC (DRCC) is designed to function between 0-110 mph.

Lane Departure Alert (LDA) or Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA)

By detecting visible white/yellow lane markings at speeds above 32 mph, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) or Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) is designed to issue an audio/visual alert if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If the driver does not take corrective action, the Steering Assist function (if equipped) is designed to provide gentle corrective steering.

Automatic High Beams (AHB)

The Automatic High Beams (AHB) safety system is designed to help you see more clearly at night at speeds above 25 mph. The AHB system can detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically toggles between high and low beams accordingly.

Road Sign Assist (RSA)

Using an intelligent camera, Road Sign Assist (RSA) is designed to detect speed limit signs, stop signs, Do Not Enter signs and yield signs, and display them on the Multi-Information Display (MID).
